I hate that as a society, we seem to have created this insane need for shoppers to feel like they are getting a deal, and legitimate companies using it to help sell their products, and scammers imitating legit websites.

I may or may not have fallen prey to a scam website to buy new bras for spouse. They want a particular style, that has been coming up in advertisements on their mobile games. /1

I check the website, it's something "charm.com", but some of that kind of thing has become pretty common.

Don't think about it, bras say they are on sale for 8 min, at 80% off, which is also normal to make it feel like a deal.

Search for the brand / type of bra, this website is top result. Branded website looks identical, so go with first one. Walmart and Amazon use weird sizing options for the "same" product, and it's hard for spouse to figure out sizes. /2

So I buy from the website, check the other one, which gives me a price about $10 USD total than the first, which I expect because 🤷‍♂️.

Then I look for other search results about "charm.com" which imply it's a full on scam, similar to the 90% off Lego websites.

So who knows at this point. /3

But then you have things like DreamCloud, Nectar, and one more mattress/ sleep comlany that all have one company behind them. The bed frames all have the same name on them, but the mattress and pillow sets have different branding.
