@blenderdumbass I’ve seen a lot of complaints that newer films/shows look dim. And now the new picture of earth looks less vibrant than the old one from 1972.
@ponysmasher Isn't that what happens when you try to squeeze a high dynamic range picture into a normal screen's color-space?
I mean on the Meryl's image on the left you can see the bright areas are totally burned out. There is no data there. Maybe what killed the contrast / vibrantness is the obsession with clarity.
Perhaps those that want their films to look good need to take a lesson from Michael Bay.
