2/ At first, #Ukraine didn’t play any geopolitical role for Trump at all. He simply didn’t care about it, but he had a score to settle with the country (#Hunter Biden). Then, however, the businessman in him sensed a huge money-making opportunity and a historically unique chance for blackmail.
3/ Think back to early 2024. For months, the MAGA #Republicans blocked vital aid. This wasn’t just domestic political squabbling. It was a deliberate attempt to starve Ukraine into a state of vulnerability, making it ripe for attack and as susceptible to blackmail as possible ⤵️
4/ And then the mask slipped. Remember Senator Lindsey #Graham. He suddenly stood there and spoke quite bluntly about the 10 to 12 trillion (!) dollars’ worth of critical minerals and natural resources lying beneath Ukrainian soil.
5/ It was clear where this was headed. Trump is using straight-up #Mafia tactics here: protection and weapons are now only available in exchange for mining rights, mineral deals, and the complete sell-off of your national resources to U.S. corporations.
6/ But it gets even more devious. Because Trump is playing both sides. While he blackmails Kyiv, he’s simultaneously making backroom deals with the other oligarch, Pootin, who’s offering him raw materials at rock-bottom prices. They’re simply dividing up the best cuts among themselves. #Wittkoff ⤵️
7/ Pootin wants at least the eastern territories up to the Dnipro, the coastlines, the Black Sea, and the vast agricultural and coal-mining areas for his self-sufficient ruZZian stronghold. Trump grants him this. In return, there are lucrative global deals and Pootin’s cooperation on other fronts ⤵️
