You want to meet Trey in person. You want to meet Ned in person. They're both great! (And Trey runs fun card game nights in hotel lobbies!)

If you want to meet me, you too can come to #PyConUS in Long Beach where I'll be hanging out with a couple of thousand Pythonistas having an amazing time in Long Beach.

Bonus, there's a bunch of us going to the Dodgers game on Wed. before the conference truly kicks off and the Angels game Monday after the first day of sprints! Come join the fun!

@brass75 What hotel are all the late night board games happening at? We're still trying to pick our hotel, and that might be a determining factor.
@pamelafox @brass75 There's a Signal group with some of the late night gamers from Pittsburgh, but I don't think there's been a consensus on hotel yet. It may depend on convenience factor once folks arrive... 🤷‍♂️

@pythonbynight @pamelafox @brass75 it's hard to know which has a lobby that's better suited for hanging out in a way where folks walking through the front door will see other PyCon attendees by the time they get to the elevators.

I picked the wrong one the first year in Pittsburgh and ended up hanging out in the other lobby the whole time.

I've tentatively picked the Hyatt this time.

@treyhunner @pythonbynight @pamelafox @brass75

The Westin lobby is pretty big and has tables that would be conducive to board games.

View one with some tabletops

@elthenerd @pythonbynight @pamelafox @brass75 do you know if those are visible by folks as they walk into the lobby?

I ask because the Drury had a lot of tables in Pittsburgh but we never ended up there at night because all the tables were hidden from the view of folks walking into the lobby and over to the elevators.

@treyhunner @pythonbynight @pamelafox @brass75

yup, basically once you walk in from the main entrance and will see the view 1 immediately and you turn your head and see view 2.

Westin is also closer to the other conf hotels with the exception of Hyatt but i blame that conference centre that's in the way.

@elthenerd @treyhunner @pythonbynight @brass75 Okay what I'm hearing is that Westin or Hyatt both seem like decent hotel choices
