@mstarace another impressive fact is that, to my knowledge it is the only country that has both a large scale freight AND passenger infrastructure.

In opposition, European countries have developed passenger trains at the expense of freight and USA seems to have developed freight at the expense of passenger trains.

@remidupre @mstarace and it completely makes sense for population density and distribution. Europe, like China, has people everywhere. USA is cluster of people and nothing nothing nothing cluster of people. I was listening to some free solo climber tellithe difference he found between US and Europe is US still has true wilderness.

@splinux @mstarace probably also geographical : you can move a lot of heavy stuff through water in Europe whereas I suppose the US is at least cut in half to that regards
