I’m not so sure about how that will land in Hungary but in most of Europe that would absolutely turn any neutrals/undecideds firmly against whoever the US decided to support in this way.

I also think it’s a risky move domestically. With the US mid-terms coming up the internal sentiment in the USA is definitely very negative towards any ‘foreign stuff’ and seems likely to become even more so as Iran becomes a quagmire.
