in the age of AI “content”, i’m turning back to old YTPs, looking at them like a scholar admiring a vintage work of art

you might have been “poop” for the time, but today…

i keep coming back to this one in particular, i think it can stand on its own as a music piece. which is fucking impressive for a 2009 YTP. give it a listen if I haven’t spammed you with it already

i see YTPs as the ultimate exercise in creating stuff that’s transformative, and putting media in a completely different context to the original.

it’s also one of the things that AI cannot come up with, because there’s no way an algorithm can make a new connection between two completely unrelated pieces of media. sure, it could imitate existing ones, but coming up with a new thing to riff from is genuinely impossible.

YTPs are perhaps the most inherently human thing that came out of the internet, and I think that’s beautiful

@domi this.

I'm so sad that RYTP had died, but it was even more heartbreaking to see the only remaining Russian pooper put out a video partially made with Sora, and then had the audacity to protect their decision!!!

Luckily, and somewhat expected, everyone disliked this.

@domi related recommendation for everyone: if you want to see some really good YTPMVs, check out [iteachvader](https://youtube.com/@iteachvader). this little mouse has got a groove! and he's still active

@domi I believe in Dathings' supremacy.

She's a historical ytp (and other content) creator.

@anominominominous @domi I love Dathings’, especially the forklift one or Great British Bake Off, but I also hope legends such as Numberer1 will still upload.
Numberer1

After riding the Frozen wave and milking it for everything it has, the Numberer1 channel has regressed into a cesspool of dank memes and "dat ending doe" comments. Despite this, Numberer1 still manages to read every comment. Yes, even the stupid ones.
