"Aviation experts said the wreckage pictured was in fact from a F-15E, from the US air force’s 494th squadron, based at RAF Lakenheath in the UK."

Let that sink in. Based in the UK, shot down on a raid in Iran.

Relationship with Trump may be beyond repair, Keir Starmer told

PM gets widespread backing after president’s mocking impersonation takes US-UK relationship to new low

The Guardian
@markhburton it's ust bonkers that people who are supposed to know about these things - like Guardian journalists - can suggest that there is or was any kind of relationship with Trump. He does not have relationships with people. Every single thing is entirely transactional and that is how he as to be handled. If you're in with him today, you don't have a relationship. You could be out again tomorrow and back in next Thursday. Relationships with this guy are nonexistent. 1/2
@markhburton 2/2 How is it that people who are paid to know about these things don't understand that?

A lot of politicians have been pretending there's a relationship — a special one, even! — for far, far too long. Trump's transactionalism has been blatant from the beginning.

King Charles' speech writers must be in hell right now.

@robparsons @markhburton

@hamishb @markhburton absolutely right. Good point about the speech writers. If I was one, I'd take something hallucinatory and see what emerged. And if I was the king, when it came to actually making the speech, I'd slip the same thing into Donnie's drink and then wing it.

@markhburton It might be based in the UK but it didn't fly out of the UK at the start of that sortie. The plane just isn't used that way. It will have launched from a neighbouring country.

It's the movements of long range bombers and other large planes we need to keep an eye on. They are taking off from here flying over the region and coming back and that's something Starmer originally said would not be happening yet clearly has happened.
