After 16 years on Android – starting on 2.1 or 2.2 – I switched to iOS. For years iOS felt far ahead, but I guess I missed some turning point. So many quality-of-life features are missing. 1/4

People pay enormous amounts for iOS apps that are already available as FOSS on Android. Looking for alternatives (European if possible):

∙ News app alt to Google News (trying Feeeed, not convinced)

More I’m looking for:
∙ Camera app without processing
∙ Moving away from Gmail – privacy concerns + Gmailify shutdown. Using Apple Mail, Proton & domain mail, but all lack comfort
∙ Punctuation on Apple keyboard without hitting 123? No Gboard.
