And just like that, another potential Trump successor disqualifies themselves

@dogzilla

Perhaps you mean "improves his position within the GOP"

In no way does this disqualify him in their eyes.
#RepublicansAreAProblem

@TCatInReality You can no longer get elected in this country with only Republican support

@dogzilla

If only I could believe that is true.

No, I fear voter suppression, partisan gerrymandering, dirty money, corporate media and partisan election administration may be advanced enough that only Republicans can win national roles. It certainly proved true in 2024.

That said, we MUST try and vote in numbers too big to cheat.

@TCatInReality Look, I’m as much a doomer as anyone, but I’m also a realist. The only way this administration could contemplate remaining in power at this point is by armed suppression, and that won’t work - that window has closed and would trigger civil war. It may still come to that, but this regime is over, MAGA is over.

The only remaining question is how much damage it does before going down - that could still be significant and I’m certain this won’t be a peaceful transfer.

@dogzilla

We can't underestimate the tenacity of the 1/3rd of the public who *still* follow his cult of personality.

Add to that the millions more brainwashed to simply be anti-Democrat above all

Then add in a heavy dose of gerrymandering, dirty money and voter suppression, and I think we will see the GOP will continue to overperform.

Dems will likely take the House, and with a big effort, take the Senate. We'll then be in a better position to slow the rot.

@dogzilla

Besides, this thread started about Ramaswamy and blatant conflicts.

I believe that, in the GOP's eyes, it can only help his chances. Money talks with them. Even the evangelicals mostly bow to the prosperity gospel.

@TCatInReality Well, we’ll see soon enough
