I'm a bit miffed.
I was, and kinda still am, really looking forward to Mouse P.I, te upcoming shooter in the style of 30s cartoons:

The thing is: They now announced the "Deluxe Edition", which includes the soundtrack, which is awesome, BUT also free access to the first, upcoming DLC.

Don't get me wrong! I'm not against game expansions! I still think Starcraft, Diablo 2 and the old Command & Conquer games had wonderful expansions! Big base games, impressive expansions.

It just feels bad if DLC in announced at, or in this case, even before release.

It will always kinda leave the taste of "If they talk about DLC already, it could've been part of the base game!".
Which might not be true! There's no date for when it'll come, just that it will.

Pre-purchase MOUSE: P.I. For Hire on Steam

Join private investigator Jack Pepper on a guns blazing, jazz-fueled adventure in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. MOUSE combines the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation inspired by the classic cartoons of the 1930’s with the adrenaline and action of an explosive first person shooter.

So, I don't know how to feel about this.

If this was one of the "big publisher games", well, I'd wait for an "ultimate version" or whatever with all DLC included anyway.

But they're an indie developer, so I have still hope they're just doing this because they have fun and need to release the game at some point. It might end up being a total non-issue.

But you know...it *feels* bad with how shitty some companies treat us videogame fans.

So, yeah...I have no clue how to feel, and if I should get the game close at release, as planned, or try to wait a year and see what happens.
