I'm sick of hearing politicians being interviewed referring to 'families' as if anyone single doesn't matter any more to them.
It's exclusive and patronising; and they should know better.

Very exclusionary. Very patronising.
@alexadeswift Indeed. Although I have siblings, I know there must be some people out there who are only children and never got married.
All those MPs' references to families - hard-working or otherwise - must be really insulting to them.
I disowned my family for the sake of my own sanity and safety, and am estranged from my spouse and child.
Also, my spouse and child are severely disabled so are not hard working, so yeah, this narrative is extraordinarily insulting .
