Iran blows hole in US aluminium supply chain with smelter strikes - lemy.lol

Lemmy

I was just reading the other day the US used to get most of their aluminum from Canada, but decided to put 50% or more tariffs on it, so Canada now sells everything to Europe, which forced the US to get it from the middle East which they then started a war in. So the attacks were only a matter of time, but apparently the dumb fucks in charge were unable to understand any of it and here we are, the absolutely dumbest timeline possible.

Oh… My brother… We are only getting started.

sigh

The foot gun in on auto with this regime.
We’re literally swimming in the stuff too. It’s pretty pricey to extract and process virgin aluminum, unless of course you happen to have a well developed first world extraction industry at hand and several thousand gigawatts of hydroelectric power.
