To remind you, this film is set during the #RussoJapaneseWar. That's the 1904-5 failure of Nicholas II where he thought it would be easy to defeat the Japanese because they were Asian & so in his adamantine view, cowardly & weak. That too was a needless war of choice, done only because he thought he could.
They destroyed his navy & took away one of his only warm water ports.
