∃ now multiple examples of #FOSS activists who — instead of focusing on the difficult policy questions raised by #LLM-backed #AI — busy themselves creating elaborate hoax websites. I supposed these individuals think they are “helping with humor”. However, the amount of mental bandwidth & public answers that those of us doing the *actual* policy work must spend responding *takes our limited time away from legitimate work*. In fact, these hoaxes serve #BigTech because of the resource inequity.
