#MASH on #war

Hawkeye: War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.

Father Mulcahy: How do you figure, Hawkeye?

Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?

Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.

Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

@SrRochardBunson one of the best scenes of all time

@SrRochardBunson

I've watched enough M*A*S*H to hear the actors read this script in my mind.

Now the theme song is stuck in my head.

@SrRochardBunson I loved that show. We watched it every week. This is still correct and well said...I do wish it w as more integrated and funny, mostly because more people would have taken to those soap boxier episodes. I will always enjoy the show but some of it feels like punching down now I guess.
@SrRochardBunson No truer words ever spoken.

I remember that one. 🙂

Also:

“Politics is war by other means.”

“Throw a rock in the air, you’ll hit someone guilty.”

“The rain falls on the just and the unjust.”

@SrRochardBunson

One of Hawkeye's best soliloquies.

@starraven for sure. Out of many great ones!
@SrRochardBunson To be fair, in christian Hell are also unbaptized innocent bystanders.
