Just noticed something about my #eyesight.

One of my #eyes is messed up. It sees a blurry image, no matter the distance.

So I mostly use the other #eye to actually see things. That one still sees a good image.

But, if I close the bad eye, it becomes hard to properly focus on certain objects, like a digital clock across the room.

Apparently, even though the bad eye can't see very well, I still need it because it still gives usable depth information, which help me focus properly.

Fascinating.

I have a "blurry image" eye, my left. Turns out I'm growing a cataract. Maybe get your eyes checked?

Last time I went to the opto, I had to insist he look deeper than just checking for what strength glasses I needed. That's when he spotted the cataract.

@PeterLG

I already did. I know what's wrong with that eye. Treatment options are not great.

The condition is, at least, not expected to get any worse than it already is. So, as long as nothing else happens to my good eye, I can live with it.

Here's hoping nothing else happens to my good eye…

hey cataract buddy, the surgery is really fast and painless, i'd rather have cataract surgery again than go to the dentist

@gloriouscow

This isn't a cataract.

oh I misread. just pretend i was never here

@gloriouscow

Nah, I do appreciate you. 😊

@gloriouscow

My wife had both of her eyes done, a year apart. Mine will get done when the optos deem it necessary. Being on the public healthcare system, while it is fantastic down here, means I don't get to decide the "when".

Bugger. As you say, one good eye is workable; my daughter deals with it on the daily.

Maybe find a land of blind people so you can be, you know, the boss, like the saying goes.
