When I first looked at Apple’s declared age range API I thought it was a prettt privacy friendly way of doing age assurance. What’s clear now with the latest iOS update is not verifying your age introduces a new level of web filter at the browser and OS level. That works accross all WebKit browsers that Apple require. Unlike ISP level blocks there is no direct appeal process to challenge an incorrect block. #apple #iOS #age

@JamesBaker I feel it's quite unnecessary considering children don't even have the funds to buy devices of their own most of the time and parents have the tools already installed or can easily install on their devices.

Apple's age assurance is quite limited considering you either need a driving license or credit card which younger adults may not have or retirees since passports aren't a valid method unlike other age assurance providers.
