At Eastertide, 50 years ago, I found myself in East Jerusalem, Even then, it had a decidedly tense and febrile atmosphere, but little could we know what the future held in store. I haven't been back since, so have no idea whether scenes like this can still be seen there.

Jesus was executed in Jerusalem, by the Roman government and Jewish religious leaders. His resurrection from the dead is the reason some celebrate at Easter.

His words have been recorded for about 2,000 years stating that it will be far worse for Jerusalem before he steps foot again on the Mount of Olives.
