“The United Nations is still very much needed,” said Francesca Albanese in an interview with Middle East Eye in Berlin on Tuesday. Speaking to MEE journalist Pauline Ertel during a visit to Germany for a screening of the documentary Disunited Nations in which she features, Albanese discussed the successes and the failures of the UN. She said that the UN had failed Palestinians in many ways, but that “hope is a muscle… We need to act to make it happen,” describing her vision for a new global system built on “de-colonised multilateralism”.
