I suppose NeXTStep OS 1.x with Display Postscript isn't freely available for emulation?

(Not searching because I'm supposed to be doing something productive right now.)

One of the things they showed us how to do in NextStep training was to "tilt" the entire display using a Display Postscript command.

@rayckeith

There is OpenStep and GnuStep.

OPENSTEP Installation Guide

@rayckeith https://infinitemac.org/ has a lot of NeXTstep versions available
Infinite Mac

A classic Mac loaded with everything you'd want.

@methoxyf @rayckeith This, and all the NextSteps (and OpenSteps) use DPS (not just 1.x, it was dropped in OSX).
I'm not entirely sure how you would flip the entire screen like that 🤔 But you can print NeXTstep "screenshots" at printer resolution.
@methoxyf @rayckeith You can also run NeXTstep 1 (and others, including the 0.8 and 0.9 pre-releases) in the Previous emulator on which the Infinitemac NeXT emulation is based - https://previous.nextcommunity.net/
The Previous Emulator

@rayckeith looks like several versions of NeXTStep are available on archive.org:
