There are things
that I just expect to happen,
and then I hope for a distant future,
so that I won’t have to experience that horror anymore.

But then my children will have to experience it,
and that terrifies and frightens me.

So I hope that no matter what horror comes, I’ll still be there
for them
With all my strength
