Mandrake Linux 9.0 (2002)
@256 (one of) the first one(s) I tried. It just worked but man I hated that it was so hard to obtain rpms for anything. I ended up downloading them from some website like rpmfind.net or something like that and then having to _manually_ resolve dependies. Once I moved to Debian, I never went back.
@Blackthorn @256 I remember mostly doing `make` + `make install` there.
@platlas @256 same. Except that 'make' would normally return an error like "vorbis.h" not found. Then I'd download libvorbis package from somewhere, try to install the .rpm only to be greeted by another error about a missing dependency. And so on.
