First brood of ducklings I have seen this Spring 😊 #birdsofmastodon
@Greenseer oh my word! Such floofy adorableness. And the yellow one! I do so worry for them
@helenclayton Oh I know, so do I. The herons are never far away. I tell you tho, the mother ducks along tje canal were behaving totally mental today.. and the dads were just standing back and looking stressed. One mother on the tow path waddled in a bee line straight at the male, pecked him for no apparent reason and took off waving her head around and quacking like she had some strange affliction. Hormones! 😂

@Greenseer hormones or he was just being an arse and you (not being a duck) couldn’t see it 😂. I wish them well, the beautiful babies.

My other neighbour’s (not the one I sheepwatch for) sheep are lambing right now. Every time I look in the field another one has popped out and mum is cleaning up. They’re ‘Easy Care’ sheep and are just as described but I do worry for them. The red kites are cleaning up after the clean up and won’t take a lamb but still, so smol.

@helenclayton Passed these ones the other day. Spot the extra leg, or is that a tail? Either way.. new birth 😊🤍
@Greenseer yes exactly that. I do worry for them, it’s a vulnerable time. But they seem to manage, it’s just my angst. What a lovely wrinkly lambette amongst the daffs.
