Nicks WorldFor those who don't know, there's an IOS function that allows you to use your braille display or braille input device without having to worry about accidentally touching your screen and activating something you don't want. It's called touch curtain. To activate it using a braille display or braille input system like the orbit writer, press dots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and the space bar at the same time. An alert will appear telling you what touch curtain does. Press ok and it will activate for you, making your screen unable to use so that your braille display or braille input device can take over. #Blind #Apple, #IOS
@NicksWorld This is just my perspective--but I just mute speech when using my Braille display. What happens if you loose connectivity with your Braille display and yet touch curtain is on? Maybe there's a way around that possibility, but I'm cautious. I don't want my phone to be unusable.

@Lynn When the braille display is disconnected from your phone, touch curtain is automatically turnned off so you have control with your screen.
@NicksWorld Well, I guess I was mistaken about limiting that gesture to calls only. 🤷 It still applies globally. I could disable it, but that would mean picking up the phone to use the side button, which I have to do because of the way I place it next to my ear.

@NicksWorld Yes! I know I'm old school and/or different about many ways I use technology or don't use it. :) Doubt that's ever going to change.
