As part of its preparation for hosting the 85th World Science Fiction Convention, Montréal 2027 Worldcon is making changes to centralize leadership. Darin Briskman is resigning from his position as Co-Chair, and Bruce Farr will be moving from Co-Chair to Chair of the convention.
“It’s been an honor to help lead Montréal 2027 Worldcon through the bid process and into 2026. As we’ve seen from 83 Worldcons since 1939, the most effective management structure has been leadership by a unitary executive. I’m very happy to hand off these duties to my Co-Chair partner Bruce, who I expect will do an extraordinary job leading our global Worldcon team,” said Briskman.
