"Trump Fires Pam Bondi for Not Being Corrupt Enough"

While she tried to prosecute his enemies & she helped cover up the Epstein scandal, it wasn’t enough.

Trump said Bondi did a “very subpar” job leading DOJ criminal investigations into his political enemies.

... & that she hadn't investigated the 2020 election results aggressively enough.

@DrALJONES Well, she did her level best to be the worst, most corrupt, AG in the history of AGs but the worst wasn’t bad enough for the Tangerine Tyrant! When will Trump’s toadies realise he cares not one jot for them?

@alex_p_roe

That's quite a complicated question, but at least there's a substantial split occurring in maga.

Even when the gullible realise he's not the messiah he promised to be, the attendant psychological pain can be too much to bear. Many will double down rather than face the truth.

Sociopaths and why we elect them

Trump's supporters have fallen for his narcissistic, sociopathic traits – voting for him because they believe he is a hero and the only person equipped to save America.

@DrALJONES Ug, not too promising. Simple minded, fearful people have fallen for a con man because they are unequipped to see what lies beneath his glitzy, false, rhetoric. Abusive relationships don’t tend to end well but certain people can’t resist ending up in such relationships. The US (and the world) has a big tangerine problem.

Re "Simple minded, fearful people have fallen for a con man because they are unequipped.."

Just as important, if not more so, decades of Dem leadership had abandoned them.

Members of socially-just societies don't feel the need for saviours:

@DrALJONES Dems, unfortunately, fell for the spell that is #neoliberalism - a toxic ideology that destroys livelihoods and lives and is largely why we are where we are today. The world might be a better place…if it survives mad king Trump.

@alex_p_roe

Neoliberalism, yes, but Dem leadership was paid handsomely to "fall for" it.

For the world to become a "better place", we must tax billionaires out of existence.

Neoliberalism was and is - now along with techno-feudalism - a fascist-billionaire project.
