I just found something interesting. My wife just played a song of someone that sang with a very "pressed" voice. It was extremely unpleasant, because I imagined how difficult it would be for myself to do this. I have no problems with growls and guttural screams as in metal, though.
Does anyone else feel a similar sensation when listening to people like Louis Armstrong or Harvey Fierstein?
(This effect is apparently related to somatic empathie and mirror neurons, and may be stronger in neurodivergent people, but I am by no means an expert.)
