After the umpteenth time through DS2, the two biggest flops of it are just Soul Memory and the boss fight designs.

Soul Memory is just utterly dumb, unnecessary, and confusing.

The bosses are either really slow with big blind spots or super fast and/or ganky with little in between.

A fuck ton of the mechanics and ideas are ahead of their time and came back refined in Elden Ring. Tho I do miss the PvP covenants that started with 2 and ended with 3.
