Richard RatheWow! We have the double-crested cormorant here in #Florida. But I've never seen iridescent (?) bronze wing/back feathers like you captured in this photo. Really stunning! 👍 💕
@nickrauchen I hadn't seen so much bronze myself until yesterday, this one has its breeding plumage which may account for enriched bronzing.
I love it!
Ours have just a hint of iridescence. The "double crest" is rarely seen and unremarkable.
They're still fun to watch!
This chap was part of a gaggle of 5-6 Double-Crested #Cormorants who used our #kayak shadow for fishing one day in #Florida back in 2020.
