Today, I drove to a garden centre on the other side of town. The trip took me through the northeast of Magdeburg, an area almost untouched by gentrification (as you can tell by the state of the roads). The last time I was here, I discovered #Peng for the first time. Naturally, I kept my eyes peeled for any Peng #graffiti I hadn't spotted last year. And sure enough, I saw a few new ones even from the car!! 😱
I couldn't resist stopping to snap at least one of them. So here it is: a new-to-me #PengMagdeburg graffiti! 🥹

I got honked at twice while taking this photo – once when I made a U-turn to park and again when I crossed the road – so I'm treating myself to another #Doorsday as compensation. I'll definitely have to come back here by bike like I did last time, maybe later this month when I've got a few days off again. Can't wait to discover more Pengs!

To the Peng experts (looking at you, @[email protected]) here: What's the deal with the Kauf Peng graffiti? Is it another Peng alias, or could it be a collab with another graffiti artist?

I'd like to think so, yes! 😄 Nobody knows his real name (well, that reference didn't age well, did it), but he's famous enough to have had his own exhibitions. I even bought a Peng T-shirt a few months ago. 🙈 He's based in Frankfurt, and I think you'll find most of his work there (check out Martin's profile—he covers a lot of Peng's Frankfurt graffiti). There are definitely other cities in Germany where he's left his mark, but seeing his work in little provincial Magdeburg, 450 km away, really boggles the mind (or at least mine 😂)!

Has Banksy's name been revealed?? Have I been living under a rock? That's such a shame! They need to be left alone - they do such important work!! 😭 Yeah, I follow Martin and I've seen him on his Peng hunts! Over 450km away? Woooow they really travel! I think so, it was only a couple of weeks ago. I think two "investigative journalists" uncovered Banksy's identity and there's been a huge public backlash. I refuse to look up the name too. What's the point?? Does it make the world a better place? I didn't really follow the news, but I believe a lot of people started posting photos of themselves, their pets, and lots of other shit with "I am Banksy" ("I'm Brian and so's my wife!") to mess with the algorithms 😂

It's just putting them in danger really! Because they bring a lot of attention to very worthwhile causes - that a lot of people would like to keep hidden. YAAAAAY! Sometimes people can be the absolute best! 🥺 Keep messing with algorithms! ✨
