Finished playing through Pacific Drive, what a great game. One of the strangest genre mashups I've seen (car building + horror??) and absolutely fantastic atmosphere. I kept stopping to go "man, look at that fog, those silhouettes, so good". Also the first game I've streamed in a long time that isn't a platformer, and I'm glad I got talked into it because taking the time to sit with it a few hours at a time and talk about it made the slow pacing work that much better for me
@molentum A friend recommended this to me and I got it ages ago, but haven't played it. I'm very intrigued, hearing that its atmosphere is that good!
@jankhambrams I recommend it! It's a slow game that can feel like work at times, but ultimately that's part of the atmosphere and charm. And the visuals use graphic shapes and atmospheric perspective so dang well, I might have to go back to take some screenshots and do painting studies of them
@molentum I've seen people do "plein air" painting in VR in games like Fallout 4. Doing studies of game screenshots is a fantastic idea
@jankhambrams I tried VR plein air once, it was fun but a bit of a chore to set up. Screenshot studies are not quite so immersive but a lot easier :D
@molentum Yeah that makes a lot of sense
