To be honest today its a draw: 3 people and 3 companies so far. But two companies already sent me congratulatory discount codes via email upfront.
Of those 5 emails from 5 companies only two had working unsubscribe links. One of those was only to unsubscribe from birthday mails.

And I don't remember giving any of those companies my (real) birth date.
