Today in Aotearoa New Zealand it's Good Friday, first day of the Easter weekend and a holiday for many NZers.

What will our #JukeboxFridayNight theme be?

My thought = Good or Bad? Lots of songs feature those, could be light or heavier.

Or "Daily Bread" (or lack of it)?
(Maybe too close to Food Or Drink which we did April 2025

Or "Cross Music"? (crosses and crossroads)?

Your suggestions are welcome in next 15 minutes for a kick off of 5pm NZDT.

Better ideas or a vote against any specific idea would count. 🗳️

@Kay my vote would be for a "daily bread" (and lack thereof, shout out to Passover happening too) theme :)

@lucky Can you think of many songs or music to fit the theme?

That's not a No, just a consideration.

@lucky For JFN we try to pick a theme that's
- not too narrow
- not too broad
- not a repeat or too close to a theme we've already done.

We did #FoodOrDrink for JFN on 12 April 2025 - probably for similar reasons to your suggestion

@lucky I appreciate suggestions for the JFB theme before we kick off. The themes behind Passover may be a good fit for another time. Feel free to remind me later.

I think Daily Bread is too close to Food and Drink for tonight. Is that OK?

@Kay of course!!! whatever theme is chosen will lead to excellent tunes I'm sure :)
@Kay How about #CrossMusic?

@WorkWithKirk can you expand on this? We try to avoid only one religion so if the reference is to crucifixtion that may be a bit uncomfortable.

Cross as in anger? Maybe.

Kriss Cross?

Main guidelines are
- not too narrow
- not too broad
- not a repeat or too close to a theme we've already done.

@Kay Sorry, that's probably too religious. I was thinking crosses and crossroads.

@WorkWithKirk I welcome suggestions. I also tease them out with my flatmates and sometimes others if there's time.

Best if not too broad or narrow, has a reasonable range of possible contributions, not likely to seriously aggravate regular participants, and inclusive if possible. Quirky and provocative are added extras if possible but not absolute.

Religion is OK but preferably not excluding other options.
