I have half an hour before going to the gym, so a quick critical listening session. Still Waiting, by Sum 41. They're Canadian! #music #GenreBending 1/?

The first cover is by Electric Callboy. I'm going to say they defy neat categorization in a genre, but Qobuz suggests "danceable post-hardcore." They rock and they're sexy. And this cover showcases their unique sound. It's fresh, released in summer 2025.

They're playing in Vancouver and I'm choosing not to travel to see them. But I'm tempted!

A group called We're Wolves covered Still Waiting. Werewolf metal... or some type of metal. They've also covered Linkin Park's Numb and One Step Closer. So they have fantastic taste.
An instrumental version of Still Waiting by Vitamin String Quartet. Really well done, and kind of aggressive for strings. I like it.
STVW, pronounced Steve W. He's a German DJ and playing in Calgary in a few weeks and I'm interested... actually, I worry I'd develop a headache. Is dubstep the right word for this? It sounds like a battle between the Transformers and the Autobots.

Finally, Barbie Sailers. A punk band with both male and female vocalists, from Ticino Switzerland.

Still Waiting is not a long song, and not many people have covered it. Still Waiting by Bob Marley and the Wailers is a different song. So is Still Waiting by Prince. I'm Still Waiting by Diana Ross is also different.
