I just did the Steam hardware survey and peeked at the March results which are innnnnteresting.

Windows 11 use has increased drastically over Win10, but Windows usage overall is *down* by over 4%.

Meanwhile Linux use is up by over 3%, and has more than 5% usage overall.

Steam Hardware & Software Survey

@ceremus for those counting, extrapolating to the current Monthly Active Users count (132 million as of march), that is 6.6 million linux users. For comparison, in February 2014, when valve announced their Linux initiative, Linux held 0.4% of the hardware survey with a MAU of 75 million, equating to roughly 700,000 users. In other words, in a little over 12 years, linux adoption has increased almost 10 times over while steam's MAU has merely doubled. Insane growth.
