Finally in Episode 6, our protagonists Qian Hong Chu, Zhao Kuang Yin, and Guo Rong are together in the capital, and they go meet the Emperor now gone mad. Up to this point, the drama spent time laying the ground for the chaotic political times in various regions.

I'm at Episode 18. Cheng Zhao Yue being executed can't come soon enough, although the drama is not there yet. He is a real historical figure and his schemes initially even fools the king and cost innocent lives, and for much too long. He's almost as despicable as the vicious traitor General Zhang Yan Ze, who rightly got beheaded a few episodes back.

The drama decided to go with a "poetic" ending for Cheng Zhao Yue for some reason, certainly not a deserved depiction by me. IRL he was publicly beheaded, way more dramatic.

After 29/48 episodes.

It's surprising how fast 7th Prince completely becomes politically stupid, unreasonable, and insecure as regent. 6th Prince would have been very disappointed. 9th Prince already is. 3rd former Prince (who their father originally wanted to take the Wuyue throne after him) likely would be as well if he knew what was going on in Qiantang. All these scenarios instigated by self-serving people throughout.

Eventhough 9th Prince couldn't protect everyone due to limited manpower, I'm still upset that no one was able to protect the righteous Minister Shuiqiu Zhao Quan, a pillar of Wuyue.
