I mean let's be clear here right - Macron is a dogshit winger and wholly emblamatic of the neoliberal police state order that brought us to this moment of ascending fascism on a boiling planet run by billionaire nazi cultists.
What he isn't is a bumbling idiot who just says whatever unhinged shit is on his mind because silence terrifies him. He absolutely meant to take a chunk out of Trump here and it's part of a larger plan - likely to disentangle Europe from America over time.
Also, don't sleep on this part:
