Watched Superman (2025) because the trailer for Supergirl (2026) looks somewhat interesting, and … oh boy. It's a great reminder that nobody is perfect, not even James Gunn.

While his goofy style worked great for Guardians of the Galaxy, it's out of place for Superman. The movie feels like a parody at times. Everyone is over the top, but that only works for Green Lantern and Mr. Terrific.

It's a 5/10 for me, I even considered turning it off more than once.

@feministmom I mean, the Supergirl trailer looks kind of goofy too, but it also looks like that movie's story is going to have much lower stakes, and Supergirl herself seems to be more of a "chaotic good" character, which is why I think goofy might just work for her movie. We'll see :)
