What are the economics of that? Seems like they ought to slash the rent to half of whatever they're asking just to get some money off of the property.

There are a couple of buildings less than a block from where I live. They were empty for two years. Now they have chain link around them, so the owner has given up.

When I was in Seattle, I saw a lot of empty storefronts. Just severely cut your rent!
