joke's on me because right after I posted this I discovered another "accident" produced indoors by this still rather nervous and un-indoor-trained rescue boy. he wasn't asking for love. he was asking to be let outside! duh.

@mariafarrell I can be even dumber. Recently doggo was crying which I know means she wants something, or is excited about what's coming etc.. I also try to ignore it mostly because it's an annoying thing which can get out of hand and she's smart enough to use it as a super power if I respond too easily.

It drives me bonkers if she starts this, and whining etc when we're getting ready to go out, so I have to keep a boundary.

@mariafarrell

So I ignored her crying that morning while doing my routine. Noticed the boat door was open, so she been on the prow and come back to cry more *to go out urgently*.

But I closed it 🤦‍♂️ Fast forward, she opened the door again while I was there but didn't get off because she knows she has to wait for my command.

Then I realised, took her out and immediately massive diarrhoea. She'd held it for over ten minutes and boy did I feel bad, and proud of her.

Dog reading/training is hard!

@happyborg oh man... it's such an ongoing process to try and read them. I have to admit my guy isn't helping himeslf by (yesterday) dropping one literally 5 minutes after a 45 minute walk. WHY😆

@mariafarrell aww, he saved you a present

I remember house training my pup... Actually boat training in my case. You'll get there.

Mine is a different kind of sheep dog (Spanish). She's too smart for my own good, but totally loyal and can't bear to be away from me. She's a very fluffy cuddly girl and keeps me grounded, and much fitter than I would be without her.

@happyborg she sounds wonderful! what an amazing girl. and yes, I get a lot more outdoor time than I otherwise would. I might grumble about walks but they're literally why I have dogs. (ok and the love)
