Interstate 69, when completed, will run through eight states, connecting Canada and Mexico as a "NAFTA super highway". Its current unconnected segments will eventually be joined to create a
2600 mile interstate. Completion may take decades.

@Barbramon1

And maybe one day people will get to use it freely without fear of being deported 😂

@maddad
Yes. I am also wondering if it may be obsolete when completed. Driverless semi trucks will start operating in a couple of states this year. Don't know where this technology will stand when the highway is completed in a couple of decades.
China's massive Road and Belt project is incorporating automated trucks into the system.
Is the US behind the curve on new transportation technology?

@Barbramon1

We are so far behind, the countries ahead of us have lapped us.

Have you checked out what China is doing with high speed rail?
It's awesome and is a solution for a lot of internal transportation issues. In some cases it's quicker to use rail than to fly.

We will never see this in america though.
Our infrastructure is controlled by the rich, and corrupt governments here.

@maddad It's so disappointing to those of us who grew up in a world where the US was at the cutting edge of technology. As a very young woman I worked on fabrication of the Apollo Lunar Module control system. What a time that was!
We surrendered our leadership starting 40 years or so ago. The decline has only accelerated in the 21st century. Our government dithers about trans people in sports while billionaires hoard resources that could transform the US into a modern marvel.
