Elizabeth Jacobs, PhDI talk about the US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) a fair amount, but information about RFK Jr. shutting them down doesn’t seem to grab people’s attention as much as posts about vaccines, for example.
That needs to change, b/c the dismantling of USPSTF is an equal if not greater threat.
Why do I say this? Because the USPSTF hasn’t met for more than a year due to RFK Jr.’s malfeasance.
They have been unable to update things like cancer screening guidelines. An A or B recommendation from USPSTF means that all flavors of insurance must cover the procedure.
