Spanish cyclist Jaume Guardeno is in intensive care after suffering serious injuries in a collision with a vehicle. The 23-year-old Spaniard finished 29th in the Tour of Catalonia last week and was 14th overall in last year’s Vuelta a Espana. Guardeno was injured during a training ride on Tuesday. His team, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, said on Thursday that Guardeno was airlifted to Tauli Hospital in Sabadell by helicopter. He was placed in an intensive care unit “with serious injuries” where he is “awaiting further evaluation”.
