Yesterday one of my International* students, who had come to office hours, told me delightedly and sincerely that I looked like his grandfather.

He clearly meant this as a compliment, and I received it as such.

Today, a different student told me that he'd described me as looking 'old, but cool' to another person, who identified me correctly by that description.

@amyfou I had one tell me with surprise that I was just like a scholar, but female. (Also meant as a compliment, and received as such. Mostly. 😀 Chinese. )
