I must admit to having mixed feelings as to the Artemis mission. The emotions for this mission are different than those for Apollo. Also, I worked as a system engineer developing Bayesian risk assessment methodologies for parts of the Space Transportation System. The original STS plans included a reusable, crewed launch vehicle, the Shuttle, Earth and Lunar Space stations, a space ship to go between them, and lunar landers. Artemis feels like a waste.

NASA fuels rocket for Artemis II moon launch
NASA has filled its moon rocket gas tank for humanity's first lunar trip in more than half a century. The 32-story rocket is due to blast off with four astronauts Wednesday evening from Florida's Kennedy Space Center. The launch team spent the morning loading the rocket with more than 700,000 gallons of fuel. Tensions were high as hydrogen fuel started flowing into the rocket, but no significant leaks occurred. Dangerous hydrogen leaks erupted during a countdown test earlier this year, forcing a lengthy flight delay. Three Americans and one Canadian make up the Artemis II crew. England's King Charles III wishes them the best.
