unfortunate that programmers use the word "run" (verb, noun) to refer to a particular execution of a program, when we could have used "perform/performance" (in the sense of particular performance of a stage play)

@lritter but a performance is more than just acting (which is why i like the metaphor): you've got the stage crew, the sound & lighting crews; you've got a limited amount of storage space in the back-stage area for set pieces; you have to keep track of props; the script gets translated into a list of very detailed instructions that depend on the crew, and are specific to the details of a particular theater and the particular production; etc
