I'm going to an indulge a trip to the archive today. Here's a note I made in 2009 (before the emoji keyboard) with an inventory of every single emoji so that I could copy and paste the ones I wanted to use. I think I only took these screenshots because of the status bar bug. Sure glad I did.

I salvaged a few PowerBooks 520s in 2008, and it seemed remarkable to me at the time that they worked at all. They would power off after 30 seconds on battery, but just seeing them boot felt like opening a chamber in a pyramid. They were about as old an iPhone 5 is today. The passage of time is so cruel.
