I find myself wondering how musicians can focus on creating magical sounds like this, when the world feels like the climactic scenes of The Neverending Story. Bits and pieces of a once coherent reality, floating in a vacuum of all-consuming Nothing.

But I guess at least part of the answer, is that they can do what they do because of people like us, who spend our lives doing our best to keep the Things from the Dungeon Dimensions at bay. While carefully avoiding staring too long into the abyss.
We think about climate crisis, and technofascism, and war, and Moloch, and do what we can to mitigate their intrusions into our reality, and prevent more. So musicians and others are safe to cultivate beauty for us to salve our wounds with.
