We are aware of reports of Codeberg being down and are investigating. Thank you for your patience.
@codebergstatus
At least your uptime is still better than that of GitHub 🫠
@Wolkensteine @codebergstatus It's so wild to me that multi billion dollar company is so bad at this.
@derrockwolf @codebergstatus
My Home Lab has better uptime than GitHub

@Wolkensteine @codebergstatus Github Pages uptime is better than CB HTML hosting, I mirror my site on GH and I observe this daily.

That is to be expected though, GH is bigger and now MS resources are behind it. CB uptime could be improved a little perhaps, I wonder if they are attacked more, or need more resources?

@muratk5n @codebergstatus
Probably Codeberg could use some more hardware (they have a repo with an overview over their hardware somewhere ... And it isn't a lot), but also it seems Codeberg is targeted more by bots and stuff too.
The instability in Codeberg static site hosting might be caused by them migrating to git-pages now, but I am not 100% sure. If you don't need your own domain for your pages and have not yet migrated to that, I'd recommend doing that, since then you can use forgejo actions to determine what is updated and when (I still update the site at every push, but probably should change that up somewhen)
@Wolkensteine @muratk5n @codebergstatus fwiw both new and old pages servers are up right now
@Wolkensteine @muratk5n @codebergstatus also custom domains are alllmost ready to be rolled out :)
@Wolkensteine @codebergstatus I can’t remember the last time GitHub went down in the last 3 months. This is the second time in about a month codeberg is down!

@crystalkey @Wolkensteine @codebergstatus let’s compare that with codeberg? Meanwhile, am not just saying some services going down. An outright service unavailable! Come on. Codeberg can do better! And they should do better.
@2teez @crystalkey @Wolkensteine @codebergstatus Our infrastructure team operating this free-to-use service could use some additional support from volunteers, if you're willing to help us be better.
@n0toose @crystalkey @Wolkensteine @codebergstatus I will like to help however little to make codeberg a better place. I have enjoyed their free services and that is why I am not happy if codeberg is not up.
I salute your contributions to the world.

@2teez @crystalkey @Wolkensteine @codebergstatus Oh, I see. First of all, we understand your frustration and also believe (and want) to become better than resort to "the others also suck", but the way you're raising it does contribute to demotivating people already under heavy load.

If you have the time to send a pull request or two (or get more deeply involved, as you wish), we'd be more happy to have you (and my DMs are open if you need help): https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/Contributing/
